The theme of the 2019 US Open made famous by Billie Jean King was "Pressure is a Privilege". What does that mean to you? Do you consider the pressure you experience when playing your sport to be a privilege or is it more a like a burden? First, I believe it is important to understand that feeling some type of pressure is normal. The pressure is there because the outcome is important to you. You want to win, you want to be successful. But i think it is important to step back and say to yourself "Wow I am really blessed to even have this opportunity to compete". The pressure you experience is a privilege because you have worked for it. You are competing where you are at for a reason. It wasn't luck..it was hard work and dedication that has got you there.
So next time you feel that the pressure is on, step back and be thankful where you are at. The pressure you are feeling is a privilege, so treat it like that.
